As in the Commons, the timetable in the Lords begins with
Prayers. These are read by a bishop, with members
kneeling on their benches.
Immediately after Prayers, any newly-created peers,
bishops, or hereditary peers sitting for the first time go
through the ceremony of introduction - and take the Oath
or Affirm.
